Cosmo

Updated: 21 hours ago

Last Updated:  April 2, 2025

Date of Arrival:  March 19, 2025

Age: Approx. 4 years old

Breed:  Pug/Shih Tzu X

Size:  18-19lbs

Gender:  Male

Adoption Status:  Cosmo is not yet available for adoption

Personality:   Cosmo is a goofy, smiley boy! He loves to follow his fosters around and enjoys receiving attention from them. He is quiet and well mannered.

House training/Pee Pad Training:  Cosmo is doing well with his housetraining. He is following the lead of his foster brother, and quickly catching on to the idea that bathroom breaks are an outside activity!

Walks/Leash Training:  Cosmo is working on his leash manners. He doesn't pull, but he does tend to zig-zag and sometimes forgets to pay attention to where he is going.

Children:  TBD

Dogs, Cats and Other Friends:  Cosmo is doing well with his canine foster brother, Bean. Initially, Bean was unsure about having to share his home and humans, but Cosmo's patience paid off, and now they enjoy playing chase in the yard.

Best Home Environment:  Cosmo has bonded strongly to his foster mom. He likes to shadow her and snooze next to her while she works.

Preference may be given to a home with a securely fenced yard.

A note about secure fencing - While each dog is different in the level of security needed, we require the fence be of a height that the dog could not jump over (some of our dogs can easily scale a 5 foot fence), no gaps in fencing, gate is secure, and the bottom of the fence is also free from gaps or areas where a dog could dig out from underneath.

A note about being a flight risk - Flight risk can be the result of many things, including fear, lack of "street-wise" skills, or incredible curiosity for the sights, smells, and sounds on the other side of the fence. Any of these reasons could lead to the dog attempting to break free of their leash or seek out gaps so they can move past the fence.

We strongly encourage adopters to enrol in a basic obedience course with the dog they adopt. Participating in an obedience course can help build trust between human and dog, help the dog gain confidence and social interaction skills, and build strong recall skills, in addition to the on and off leash skills that basic obedience training can provide.

Health:  Cosmo has not yet completed his vetting
